Flickr has long been the first recognized social media site of the Web 2.0 phenomena. Started to provide a medium for amateur photographers to share their photos online, it quickly revealed the social component that brought tremendous exposure for many. Most people don’t realize that Flickr has gone far beyond just being a place to upload photos.
